Day 48

Today was a beautiful one. In the low-80's, the sun shining and a slight breeze. Mark finished his riding for the day in the early afternoon, so we located our campground in Newcomb and found a good spot overlooking a small lake. The bugs aren't as brutal now that the weather is cooler, so it makes sitting in our camping chairs much more enjoyable. It's getting dark earlier now too, which is also good news for us because we can fall asleep quicker. We've both always liked camping, but I think after this trip, we now LOVE it! It's definitely the cheapest way to get away, but there's also something really rewarding about sleeping outside amongst the trees and critters of the earth. Only moments ago we saw a little beaver fishing in the lake just a few feet away. The only exception to all of this loveliness is when it rains all night, in which case I retract these words.:)

  1. Mark and Sarah, Soak in the beauty of simple things of nature. They are God's gifts to us. I can remember as a kid laying out in the side yard and just looking at clouds and trying to imagine them as different things. I miss lying in the yard and looking at clouds. I don't think we were supposed to stop doing it, other things just get in the way. Be so very thankful you took this time while you could. In fact do not stop pursuing dreams. Dreams when realized only lead to bigger dreams. You may cover the U.S., but there is also a world. There are so many things to see, and do that do not require wealth. If fact it just requires something that wealth cannot buy, time. Make sure when you have your own family to dream with them. When they are real little ask them their dreams, and help them accomplish their dreams, then they will never, ever be afraid.

    Love You! Dad

  2. Today is Sept. 4 (my little sister's birthday), and as I'm going through all of the blog pages I printed out, I noticed that this day's didn't stick for some reason. So here it is . . .

Ditto to what your dad said in his beautiful comment.

"Bless the LORD, all my soul; and all that is within me, bless His Holy Name." (Psalm 103:1)
